Also known as SNL, Saturday Night Live
is was a weekly comedy show featuring unknown comedians doing improve in a variety or skits. When the show aired in the 80s-90s it was an honor to host the show or be the musical guest, now it’s the new punishment for a bad review on your latest album or movie. I have always been a fan of the show and have a secret desire to be a member of the cast, but the show has gone downhill. The reason is still being researched out in Arizona’s science labs. Possible reasons: no more Second City crew members on the show, no more good hosts, bad writing ever since the writer’s strike a few light years back, or maybe because they don’t show Mr. Samberg as much anymore.
Last night to this morning I watched SNL. The host and musical guest was Jennifer Lopez, previously known as ghetto latina chick, or more previously known as J-Lo. Over the course of this, what seemed as long as a cross country skiing event show I laughed the same number of times as the number of the good acting performaces by Kirsten Stewert. Zero. I am honestly to the point where when people say “Liv you are so funny. You honestly need to be on SNL!” as a punch to the breast. I love the show and the whole concept but the new people aren’t funny and the hosts aren’t either. Maybe they start letting celebrities host, so non SNL obsesser(like myself) will actually watch. That or let my big nosed curly fro Andy Samberg sing some more outrageous songs. I will continue to watch the show and all of it’s painfully akward momments where the audience was supposed to laugh but gave them the Whoopi Goldberg face.
To all of those who stayed up and watched the re-runs of Keeping up with the Kardashians or Twilight for the third time on Showmax, good night and hope the dreams aren’t too odd for the cranium.
